Xbox extension microsoft edge

Microsoft recently announced that it has released a new Microsoft Edge extension for Xbox fans. The Xbox New Tab extension brings a few different things to Microsoft Edge's current design scheme.

With this new extension from Microsoft, you can see some of the most popular Xbox game illustrations and scenes when you open a new tab page. If you are looking for a new topic and some changes, this Microsoft extension may be something to study.

Microsoft promoted this new extension on the Microsoft rewards page, and it currently appears to be an older version,

However, it is not just for Microsoft Edge users. An alternative version of this extension is also available in Chrome.

The graphics of this game can be configured through the small menu located in the upper left corner of the browser. This menu will allow you to choose from a list of Xbox games, including Forza Horizon 4, Age of Empires 2, Gears 5, and Sea of Thieves. Each has some background graphics options to choose from.

At the top of the page, the Bing search box will be located below and contains game-related content. If you select a specific game, you will see shortcuts to the game’s main website, social media links, including Facebook pages and Youtube channels. There will also be links to game streams, most of which are on Twitch or Mixer.

If you are worried about installing an extension, we will break down the permissions you need to accept to use this extension.

Microsoft Edge will grant the new extension permission "Allow this extension to read and change all data on the websites it visits." It looks like the extension will be able to change the pages you view, display notifications, communicate with websites, read your browsing history, and manage your apps and other extensions.

Appears to follow the standard permissions expected by most extensions today. They can seem more daunting than they really are.

While it may not be the most efficient or necessary extension you've ever installed, it certainly helps get us in the mood for the Xbox Series X launching later this year. Also, for many of us now, this is a welcome distraction!
