Whirlwind fx element keyboard
The Whirlwind FX Element keyboard follows the company's main goal, which is to try to provide the highest level of immersion for the gaming experience. At a price of $100, you must provide more than just gorgeous lights to be considered good value for money. The
gaming keyboard has made great strides in the past two decades. However, one area that has not been fully explored is reactive RGB, which truly presents your gaming experience through vivid colors. Well, all of this will be changed by the Whirlwind FX Element keyboard.
Whirlwind FX markets the Element keyboard as one of the most immersive keyboards on the market today. It provides some exciting new RGB implementations that can take your gaming experience to a new level.
Today, we will test the Element keyboard to see how it compares to similarly priced alternatives. We will see how it compares to build quality, game performance, and overall immersion.
Having said that, let's not waste any more time, just dive in!
Like all keyboards today, the Element Whirlwind FX keyboard uses a fairly standard-looking box with a keyboard picture on the front. Information about the keyboard surrounds the sides and back, with key functions explained on the back. Inside the box, the keyboard is housed in a thin layer of plastic and a small cardboard casing. Inside the
Other additional features not included with the keyboard but submitted for review:
From a design standpoint, I have to say that the Whirlwind FX Element keyboard looks important. It is equipped with an all-black design, which is well highlighted by flashing RGB (which we will talk about later) and subtle carbon fiber edges. The
keyboard back panel adopts a discreet design and brushed aluminum styling, similar to the Corsair K95 XT Platinum. In fact, to be honest, there are many things about this keyboard that remind me of the more expensive Corsair alternative.
As far as the brand is concerned, Whirlwind keeps the Element keyboard fairly simple, using the upper right corner of the keyboard as a small logo. I might prefer to see the LED indicators placed here, but it's really no big deal.
The keys on this keyboard are full-height and shiny, which I didn't like at first. I'm still not sure if I'm convinced by the idea of glossy keys, mainly because they don't provide enough grip like matte alternatives, but they started to grow on me for general typing purposes. We received samples of frosted keys and I can say with certainty that they feel much better to play.
Like many keyboards today, Element has two retractable feet that can be used to adjust the height and angle of the keyboard to suit users' needs. Unlike other keyboards in this price range, Element's feet only provide a height profile. It would be nice to see the use of a double height system, but this, again, is not a big deal.
The cable equipped with this keyboard is braided and feels very strong. It is 1.8 meters long and will not disassemble, making it easy to store and transport. Unfortunately the board does not have a USB pass-through feature and there is no rerouting cable option below. In other words, from a purely aesthetic point of view, I must praise where I deserve it. The Whirlwind FX Element keyboard has many correct boxes checked. The
features are very important for keyboards that cost around $ 100. A good set of features can distinguish between an expensive keyboard and a cheap keyboard. Fortunately, in this case, the item has many functions. So let's take a look at some of these exceptional products:
Unsurprisingly, the Whirlwind FX uses mechanical switches; Kailh red switches to be precise. Kailh reds is a Cherry MX Red clone made in China by Kaihua, providing a linear style, not everyone's favorite tea. Unlike touch switches that provide touch sensitive feedback, Kailh Reds can't say the same.
That said, compared to other types of switches, their audibility is much lower, making them well suited for typing and general use. These special switches have a driving force of 50cN and a pre-stroke of 2mm, making them quick and easy to press.
That said, consumers can choose between these and clicks, giving you some versatility during the checkout process.

Antighosting is a great feature, and we can see this feature in gaming keyboards all over the market. Antighosting is a function that allows you to press several different keys at the same time while registering each key. Although this sounds nonsensical, before it appeared in the field of gaming keyboards, people who played "keystroke" games encountered key loss in critical situations; This is a factor that esports players simply cannot tolerate.
Antighosting technology has many different shapes and the number of keys that can be pressed at the same time is different. Some keyboards can only press up to 10 keys at the same time, while others provide complete key replacement - the ability to press each key on the keyboard while all keys are registered. The credit to the
Element is that it comes with the latter of two options, providing unlimited precision in games that require multiple keystrokes or complex key combinations. Over the years,
RGB lighting has divided into the market; classified
The function of this keyboard brings a new sense of immersion to your game settings. This is also the number one marketing tool used by the people at Whirlwind FX to sell the product, categorizing the keyboard as a reactive RGB experience.
Like many keyboards at this price point, Element provides individual backlit buttons for unlimited levels of customization. Downloading Element software (Whirlwind Engine) will allow users to access many impressive features and presets. This is where things get very interesting.
Since Signal is an open platform software package, it provides extensive customization, including 16.8 million colors per key and the ability to customize lighting scripts using basic HTML5/canvas skills.
has provided a large number of reactive RGB presets for popular games such as PUB: G, Fortnite, CS: GO. RGB will interact with your game, changing the color when an explosion or shooting occurs nearby. It also changes when your health is poor or when you are taking certain actions. It may be one of the most immersive RGB I have seen, and it does add something to the gaming experience. In addition to
games, you can also use the Audio Spectrum presets to sync your keyboard to the beat of the music. To me, while many presets feel a bit fancy, the game's audio spectrum and reactivity options definitely make it stand out from the competition.
We also received a second set of ABS keys (for review), which can be purchased alongside the keyboard if required. The original keys that come with the Element have a smooth finish and can become very slippery, especially when your hands are wet. That said, you can choose a suit with a matte finish, which provides more grip.
For games, I would definitely recommend matte keys, but we will discuss them in detail later.
This gives us a good understanding of the performance part of this keyboard. In general, I am a little disappointed with the performance Element provided me. I look forward to a better gaming experience, especially all the hype surrounding the RGB of the board. However, it seems that the performance of the game has been compromised to accommodate the former.
I started playing some fast paced first person shooter games, which are affected by the quality of the peripherals. So, as always, we loaded up CS: GO first and did some deathmatches to see what Element had to offer. Although the keystrokes are fast, I think the frequency of the missing keys is definitely higher. I think I pay too much attention and peek into key areas, which can be fatal at the top of the competitive ladder. After arguing for a while, I came to the conclusion that the problem is the Kailh linear switch.
Because this keyboard does not provide any tactile feedback, it is difficult to avoid pressing the wrong key, if it makes sense. The smooth nature of the keys means that you can easily hit the wrong keys without even realizing it. On the one hand, the change is great, as it allows you to react faster than your opponents. However, if you're a bit clumsy on the keyboard, linear switches can be particularly troublesome. The 100% anti-ghosting function also does not help this result, although it is useful in other situations!
As mentioned above, the combination of a 50cN driving force and a slim 2mm stroke makes this keyboard really fast. I can definitely see how accurate competitive esports gamers like this design feature.
switched to RGB, to be honest I really like its in-game performance. I decided to play PUB: G and CS: GO at the same time. When the grenade exploded next to your head, it was really nice to see the keyboard change color. It also really adds to those stressful moments in PUB: G when health is poor and you need a medical kit to survive. The
audio frequency spectrum feature is also my favorite and is often used in daily activities. Although what happens when you use this function is not 100% clear, you will still feel that RGB is dancing to the beat.
In the end, I was a little disappointed with the performance provided by this keyboard. That being said, users can choose from several different switch types before purchasing. I can definitely see a different type of switch that adds a lot of value to this impressive keyboard.
This is our complete introduction to the Whirlwind FX Element keyboard. Before using this keyboard, I am not sure how to deal with it. I mean, this is a gaming keyboard sold around its RGB. This is the kind of thing that always sounds the alarm in my mind. However, things were not as bad as he had imagined at the beginning.
Although the games are not as good as the Ducky Miya Pro Sakura I use daily, they still provide good professionals. For me, switches are not my favorite thing, but they do provide fast startup and limited audio output, which are two factors that many people desire. RGB speaks for itself, I haven't seen many keyboards that offer this kind of functionality, even among the quality products on the market. Tribute to Whirlwind, because they did a great job in this department.
But in general, would you recommend this current $100 keyboard? Well, it's really hard. I think it boils down to this. If you are the kind of person who likes games but pays attention to visual effects and immersion, then this keyboard may be just what you want. However, if your main goal is game performance, you may have
