Ubisoft announces digtial event ubisoft forward

Ubisoft announced at its E3 2019 press conference that Gods and Monsters are the next game from the team behind Assassin's Creed Odyssey. The game is an open world storybook action adventure game set in ancient Greece. Ubisoft calls it an "epic journey through the fantasy world of Greek mythology", focusing on gods and mythological creatures.

Hero Fenyx's mission is to restore the glory of the Greek gods to their former glory by fighting the monsters created by the terrifying leader Typhon (a winged threat), and you will eventually face them. Players will encounter Gorgon, Hydra, and Cyclops as they explore the ground and the sky, thanks to special power passed down by the gods.

Most of the game revolves around puzzle solving, quizzes, dungeon crawling, quests, and sword fighting on the stunning Blessed Island.

MarcAlexis Côté, Senior Producer at Ubisoft Quebec, closed the briefing with an announcement and trailer. The trailer shows a green Greek island with dense grass, white rock outcrops, scattered ruins, and prominent cypress trees.

The art in "Gods and Monsters" that we have seen is vaguely reminiscent of Fortnite, but has a more refined brushstroke style that is inconsistent with the details of the Odyssey. It leans more toward paint than any of Ubisoft's recent products, which is a refreshing advance with the highly productive aesthetic we're used to seeing.

Gods & Monsters will be released on February 25, 2020 for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and Google Stadia. Pre-orders are currently open on Ubisoft's Gods & Monsters portal.
