At Gamescom, publisher THQ Nordic shared a new helicopter combat game called Comanche in development. Developer Nukklear Digital Minds took the stage to discuss the news and present new trailers during a live demo on the opening night.
Comanche entered the simulation game genre that became popular in the late 1990s and early 200s, because PC games gained fame due to games like Janes' longbow, but they impregnated it with paint fresh and all that contemporary technology can provide. helicopters as advanced modern war tools.
In terms of gameplay, Comanche is an objective-based team multiplayer game set in the near future. Players select each combination of helicopters and drones with unique capabilities from the vehicle library, and dive into crazy low-altitude dogfights while operating the drones at close range. The team can play a role as an offensive or defensive force, and there is a ranking mode where players can test their skills against each other.
From the trailer, we can expect stunning natural landscapes and a lot of diffuse terrain, from which stealth attacks can be launched in the style of a real attack helicopter. Few other details are available at the moment, but Comanche seems to focus on fast-paced, explosive aerial combat, and feels more like an arcade lore of the enthusiastic simulator type, which should be suitable for fast-paced shooting and action-packed competitions. .
Comanche will enter the early access stage in early 2020. At the same time, THQ Nordic is conducting Alpha and Beta testing and is urging interested parties to register their interest on its website for a chance to participate. Unfortunately, the publisher did not say when they could start.
