Samsung gaming monitor
Samsung's "new look" Odyssey display is a blockbuster, offering an unprecedented combination of size and performance, making budget-conscious users both upset and jealous. The
Odyssey G9 is the star of the new product line. It brings a 49-inch screen that not only provides stunning 1000R curvature immersion, but also provides responsiveness and speed in e-sports. Unfortunately, the retail price of this flagship display exceeds $1,000, which makes G9 a pipe dream for many users.
Since then, Samsung has released many smaller variants that are not so aggressive on the wallet, one of which is the Samsung G5.
G5 is the cheapest product of its kind, focusing more on value rather than pure performance. That said, thanks to the large 32-inch VA panel, 144Hz refresh rate, 1ms response time, and 1000R curvature, the G5 continues to deliver a great gaming experience. Plus, at today's prices, it becomes one of the cheapest 1440p 144Hz displays on the market.
In the guide below, we will test the Samsung G5 (C32G55T) in a variety of different scenarios to see how it compares to similarly priced alternatives. Chapter

workmanship The basic marketing Materials for the
G5 case are relatively limited. Samsung is out of electronics. There's no information on display specs on the box, just the little Odyssey G5 stamp on the top and a few features on the side. The
box is relatively small, and the monitor is removed from the stand. G5 provides a tool-free design, requires very little construction work, and is very intuitive.

Looking briefly at the G5 from a design point of view, I have to say that the Samsung team has done a pretty good job in this regard. G5 uses a stylish design, which is characterized by its huge 1000R curve. Regardless of Samsung's "borderless" marketing, the display has a two-level bezel, which is quite thick compared to current alternatives. The bottom frame is the largest frame, with the Samsung logo in the center, and the OSD control joystick below. Samsung also added some wingesq to the bottom bezel of this monitor to create a good gaming aesthetic. The
bracket has a wide "V" shape that provides good stability, but it is not the strongest I have seen (more on that later). The
bracket provides a small hook for cable management and wiring, but it has no other functions. For all intents and purposes, it is one of the most basic stands that I have come across.
moved to the back of the panel, not really much to report. The back provides a swirling look and some pretty engravings cover the entire back. Unlike the other displays in the Odyssey series, the G5 does not have an entrance cover, instead opting for a large circular cutout which, while not the best, provides easy entrance access.
Historically, build quality has been an area where Samsung has suffered. For Samsung G5, the story is not good.
Let us start with some positive aspects. The panel itself, even with the 1000R curve, still feels very sturdy, and there is almost no squeak in our tests. Most of the accessories feel well done, there is not as much space as you think. In addition, the doorway feels sturdy, as does the panel siding.
Unfortunately, this is the positive place. One of the biggest factors in the quality of monitor manufacturing is the bracket. The bracket that Samsung has equipped for this monitor is absolutely terrible. Unpacking this monitor and looking at the stand, I really thought it was a joke. It reminds me of a coat rack, not a monitor stand for more than $300. but no matter. The
screen does not provide any metallic infrastructure, nor does the stand itself provide any movement, anyway.
Overall, I am a bit disappointed in the build quality of this monitor. Although it is an inexpensive variant, it still lacks many similarly priced alternatives in this category.
Like most modern panels, the Samsung G5 is equipped with an anti-glare panel coating with a matte finish (3H). The coating does an excellent job of reducing both natural and artificial light sources, but leaves a lot of fingerprints during use. Chapter
litigation. The
color accuracy is not affected. It is time to put the Samsung G5 in a variety of different game scenarios to see how it performs in terms of pixel response, input delay, and HDR content. Although this is a budget-friendly monitor, I still hope that Odyssey can provide a good gaming experience, especially the performance provided by other "G" models.
Before we start, we make sure to set the monitor to the best setting I think. For me, this is the maximum refresh rate (144Hz), the pixel response time is set to "fastest", and FreeSync is turned on. Setting the response time to the maximum value not only significantly reduces brightness, it also causes overshoot.
We played some fast-paced FPS shooter games first to see how the G5 will become a competitive gaming monitor. I've played CS: GO, Call of Duty, and PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, all fast-paced games with varying levels of demand. My first impression of the screen is good, it provides a smooth experience without a lot of screen artifacts, which often confuse minor alternatives. The refresh rate helps provide a clear visual experience, even in more intense game scenes (the whole team rushes to the point of the bomb). I noticed that when the mouse is moved very aggressively, some of the image sharpness decreases. Although this situation is not uncommon, it is still annoying and definitely puts me at a disadvantage when facing players with faster response times. If you try to counteract this with a faster response time setting, you will find other artifacts on the screen, such as overshoot and ghosting, which are also detrimental to the gaming experience.
I decided to try some non-competitive games below. To my surprise, the gameplay feels great. The 32-inch model allows you to be completely immersed in a virtual environment, not to mention the impressive 1000R curve. Although the colors are a bit drab, the image quality provided by the 1440p resolution makes up for it. Adaptive Screen Sync (FreeSync) support runs from 48-144Hz, allowing me to get an ultra-smooth gaming experience of just 48 frames per second.
Overall, the gaming experience on this monitor is not bad, but it is actually more suitable for casual gamers.
So you have it, our full review of the Samsung Odyssey G5, one of the cheapest 1440p 144hz monitors on the market. When I finished my review, I was a bit divided on whether or not I really recommend this monitor. At the heart of the
Samsung G5 is an affordable 32-inch display that provides excellent image clarity and excellent gaming performance. With a refresh rate of 144Hz and a low MPRT of 1ms, playing fast-paced shooting games is perfectly acceptable, although not as good as faster alternatives. The curvature of the 1000R and the above specifications provide an excellent immersive experience, benefiting a lot from single-player games. Although the color accuracy of
is not high, the bracket is absolutely useless, but I think Samsung is still worth the money. At about $350, it is difficult to argue with its price, especially when you consider the basic specifications.
With that said, if you're willing to spend a little more money, you will be able to enhance your gaming experience in both competitive and casual settings.

Samsung G5 is an excellent gaming monitor that provides excellent image clarity 3. Upgraded The 144 Hz frequency of MPRT and 1 ms less than MPRT is completely acceptable for playing fast-paced shooter games, although not as good as a faster alternative. The 1000R curvature, along with the specifications above, provides an excellent immersive experience, and single-player games benefit a lot.
Although the color accuracy is not very good, and the support is meaningless, I think Samsung is still worth the money. At around $ 350, it's hard to argue with its price, especially considering the basic specs.
