Nintendo confirmed in its E3 Direct demo that the Switch remake of The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening will be released on September 20, 2019. The Japanese company released a new trailer to commemorate this moment, and it looks like more than a colorful event. The

title faithfully follows the scheme of the original 25-year-old Game Boy, because Link promised to escape Coholint Island via a selected add-on. This is a dungeon-building feature that allows you to recreate the room acquired through various editors. Assemble in a custom arrangement. Then you can play the dungeon in a special mode and get exclusive rewards and loot. We believe these can be shared online through community platforms, or they can be for personal use only. Nintendo has not confirmed either way.

Of course, the most notable difference is the super dynamic, retro and modern visual overhaul that is full of colors, cute toy-like characters and vivid landscapes. The remake adheres to a top-down view and reintroduces many other gameplay of the original version; open world exploration, dungeons, boss battles, puzzles and platform parts.

For the unfamiliar, the Legend of Zelda: Link's awakening plant Link is on an exotic island guarded by a dormant windfish because he was abandoned there by a particularly cruel storm at sea. Link must use puzzles and battles to explore and uncover the secrets of Koholinter in order to collect a set of musical instruments. You can then use them to wake up the sleeping windfish and clear a path for Link to leave the island.

Nintendo has released a number of editions to choose from, including the Dreamer Edition featuring a beautiful concept art hardcover book and a limited edition of game cards included in the Game Boy-themed Steel Book. The special edition amiibo will also be released simultaneously with the game.

Featuring the excellent remakes of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker and The Legend of Zelda: The Connection Between Worlds, Link's Awakening should be for those who want to relive the unique perspective of this game. It is a way to enjoy the convenience of modern games in the Zelda universe, instead of improved graphics.
