The first method of changing the Twitch name will be done in an Internet browser window. If you don’t have a desktop application, this is the easiest way to change the name of Twitch.

Click here to open Twitch in your browser and start using it. Or, just enter "https://www.Twitch.TV/" in the address bar.

* Note: By default, using a browser on a mobile device will not allow you to change the Twitch name. You need to enable Twitch.TV in desktop mode by clicking on the three-dot icon and selecting it from the available options.

After loading Twitch and logging into your account, simply click on the profile icon and select the "Settings" option from the drop-down menu.

In the settings make sure you are on the "Profile" tab and then scroll down to the "Profile settings" section

Under "Profile settings" you will see your current username. You can edit your username by clicking the edit icon (small pencil) to the right of the username.

A new window will appear asking you to change your username. You just need to enter your new username and click Update at the bottom of the window.

* Note: Users can only change their username every 60 days. Your old username will be available to other users within 6 months of its change.

Using the Twitch mobile app will allow you to make many changes. That being said, you cannot use it to change your username. If you want to change your username using a mobile application, you must use the browser on your phone and use "Desktop Mode" to open the Twitch website. Follow the steps above and you will be able to change your username immediately.
