One of the most rumored and talked about games of this year is the mysterious Call of Duty 2020 title.
With the emergence of new rumors and leaks, we think we should review everything we know about this game so far.
The latest leak tells us something different. There is a list of leaked campaign missions and multiplayer maps that seem to confirm part of the return to the original Black Ops story.
This leak comes from a Microsoft store listing called "The Red Door", which appears to be the Alpha version of Call of Duty 2020. Data miners quickly got to work and began searching the archives, discovering key information about the upcoming title. They found a list of multiplayer maps, campaign missions, and zombie mode confirmations.
Data miner ProtoWarehouse leaked eight multiplayer maps and shared them on ModernWarzone's Twitter account.
These maps appear to be related to a vulnerability discovered by YouTuber TheXclusiveAce in June (video has been removed). The full list of
The main multiplayer game map, called "tank", is reported to have been shown on social media in June.
Of course, these leaks and any footage related to them have been removed, so the rumors are likely to have some degree of accuracy. Activision has initiated several copyright notices and DMCA warnings to anyone who shares images of suspicious games on social media. Another important part of the
leak is the list of campaign mission names. Prototype Warehouse posted a series of campaign mission names on Twitter.
From these codes, we can collect certain information. The mention of "KGB" and "Nam" seems to be very consistent with other rumors we have seen that this is a Cold War-themed game. It seems to happen in different places around the world, with Russia and Vietnam being the key regions.
"Nic_revolution" seems to be a reference to the Nicaraguan revolution that occurred in the 1960s and 1970s. This makes some fans excited. This shows that we will see Nicaraguan political activist Raul Menendez/Call of Duty: The main villain of Black Ops II.
In addition to the standard single and multiplayer games, it appears that zombies will return as a third mode. 4,444 data miners discovered a unique map codenamed "Silver", which will be included in the game's launch. As many Call of Duty veterans already know, Treyarch is known for using color as a codename for the zombie map in development. Since this model has been a very consistent part of the CoD franchise since 2008, its inclusion here may not have much of an impact.
With so many rumors and leaks, are we closer to knowing the real name of this Call of Duty game? There are many rumors about this name. So far, we have seen "Call of Duty: Black Ops", "Call of Duty Black Ops" CIA and "Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War".
We're still not sure what this game will be called, so now anyone is guessing. We think we'll see a trailer soon that will hopefully confirm or eliminate some of these rumors.
We will notify you when we have more information on the next Call of Duty game. What do you think of the recent leaks? What do you think is the official title? Please let us know in the comments below.
