has The previous specifications let us have a more comprehensive understanding of the build quality, design and mechanical characteristics of the AW2721D.

As I said in many Alienware reviews, the new "legendary" design language adopted by the new panel series is absolutely It's great. The beauty is dominated by light gray appearance and soft touch. The color contrasts sharply with RGB (which we will discuss later) and the black frame of the panel itself. The

bracket adopts a "V" shape design, which adds a lot of stability to the AW2721D. Since the size of this monitor is 27 inches, the stand doesn't have to be too wide to make it feel solid, which is the case here. There is little or no wobble on the stand monitor. Again, we will cover this in more detail soon.

In general, the design of AW2721D is very simple. I think this is the whole point of the new design language. Choose simple rather than attractive game aesthetics, which I personally appreciate.

As we said before, the manufacturing quality of Alienware displays is one of the many selling points they must offer-they feel absolutely reliable in all areas.

starts from the panel itself. Although it uses a lot of plastic in its design, it is not as sticky as you think. Obviously they have trouble using high quality materials, which are very strong, with little flex or flex. The same goes for stents. The housing of the stand is mainly made of plastic, while the interior is reinforced with a metal frame, which can stand the test of time.

Speaking of brackets, it's absolutely top-notch. With a lot of versatility, there is usually a bit of shake or slack. However, this is not the case here, all the mechanical properties feel very strong and require a little force to manipulate, which is always a good sign to my eyes.

Once again, Dell insisted on using an anti-reflective coating with a matte finish (3H) for this monitor. Although this special coating does an excellent job of mitigating most light sources, it is notorious for being stained with oil and fingerprints.

Turning to the frame, I think Dell has done a very good job in this regard. The AW2721D uses its new InfinityEdge display, which means that the bezels on all sides are very thin, including the bottom bezel. Personally, I have to say that this is probably the closest frameless design I've ever seen.

If you're looking for adjustability and functionality, look no further: AW2721D can provide both functions at the same time. Look at the function first, this monitor checks all the correct boxes. It provides pivot, tilt, height and rotation adjustments, which means that whatever position is comfortable for you, you can position this monitor according to your exact needs. Another advantage of the

is the solidity of the support. To reiterate what we said before, support requires a little force to move, this is

In the Alienware series, Dell has adopted the joystick method for this particular monitor located on the right back of the panel. The

OSD is very intuitive and easy to use, allowing users to change most of the settings for color, brightness, and contrast. Users can also set their own unique preset colors using the available "custom" mode. In addition to colors, OSD also provides many different settings tailored to the game; including increased response time, enhanced gameplay (crosshairs, timers, etc.), and dark stabilization. You can also set the backlight settings using the available variable backlight options, providing you with 3 different modes to choose from.

users can also access the RGB settings of the various areas around the panel. With a lot of RGB customization, you will be able to configure the lighting according to your exact requirements and blend it perfectly with your other settings. Finally, you can also find all audio options and many different custom presets.

Color accuracy and image quality are two important factors on any monitor. Having said that, Dell said that the AW2721D can provide 95% of the DCIP3 color spectrum, making it one of the most colorful and accurate panels in the gaming industry.

For this reason, we will run many different color tests to see how it compares with the claims of Dell and some market leaders.

We first test the out-of-the-box configuration. The AW2721D uses a "standard" preset, which feels closest to sRGB. The brightness out of the box is very high (212 candela), so we reduced it to 120 for standardized testing. The standard preset works well, highlighting black depth, contrast, and average increment (2.37). The white level is warmer than our ideal setting, but nothing to worry about-the colors out of the box are very good.

We continued to test 4 other presets, including game presets, sports presets, custom presets, and warm colors (an easy-to-see preset). They performed very well from the beginning. As can be seen from the above results, they all provide a healthy contrast ratio of approximately 1000:1 and an amazing average increment-the highest is 2.89.

We decided not to waste time, but to conduct a more in-depth test of the two most accurate presets: Game 1 and Custom. Finally, we calibrated the display and conducted in-depth tests to understand the accuracy of the panel. The

depth preset game 1 provided slightly worse data, but this is expected. The average delta rises to 3.04, which is not terrible, and the largest delta is 5.33. The contrast and depth of the black are consistent with the original test, while the white balance is a bit warmer.

Before calibrating the monitor, we reduced the brightness to 120 candela (19% brightness) and customized the RGB profile. For this monitor, we set red to 100%, green to 95%, and blue to 91%. This gives us a good base color to calibrate. After

calibration, we conducted another in-depth test, and the number has been greatly improved. The white level of 6493K is close to perfect, and the contrast ratio of 994:1 is still good. The depth of the black is a bit sagging, but nothing can be seen with the naked eye. Even more impressive is that the average increment of the calibration mode drops to 0.23. The largest deltoid muscle is 1.26, and the gamma reading is 2.24, which is a bit high. The

panel uniformity is a test we ran to check the uniformity of brightness and color on the screen. During this test, the central square was used as the reference space. Then test all other squares to see how far it differs from the reference value.

In an ideal world, we want all the squares to be green, which means that it does not break the differential threshold, which we can set at the beginning of the test.

Note: The results will vary from panel to panel.

From the point of view of panel uniformity, this is one of the most accurate monitors I have tested. As can be seen from the above results, almost all the squares in the figure are green, or very smooth compared to the reference square.

On most modern panels, you will find that the corners are usually very different. However, this is not the case with AW2721D. This is a very uniform panel. The core of the

AW2721D is an IPS panel, which provides a very good viewing angle. The color starts to depreciate by about 60 degrees, making it a great display for multiple people. In other words, at 27 inches, it is not the ideal size for sharing.

Color accuracy is a very important factor for this monitor to take into account, mainly because Dell is waving the old 95 IP3 logo: this is the core of the gaming monitor Important statement That said, the color gamut coverage and volume provided by this monitor left us very impressed. AW2721D has over 140% sRGB volume, 100% ARGB volume, and 104 IP3, actually providing the best of wide color gamuts.

Make AW3821DW an excellent choice for those who want to use precise standards in sRGB, aRGB and DCIP3 color spectrum.

We completed the image quality and color accuracy test by checking the maximum brightness, minimum brightness, and 120-candle light level on this panel. The results are as follows:

Therefore, without compromising color accuracy and image clarity, it is time to put this beast into some game scenes and see how it handles competitive single-player games and fast-paced games. .

I started by playing a quick shooting game: CS:GO. A big selling point of this monitor is its 240Hz refresh rate. And CS: GO is a great game because it really benefits from this specific spec.

As we expected, the game in general feels very fluid. I did not experience screen tearing, mainly with Gsync enabled, and zero ghosting. Since CS: GO is such a fast game, if you don't use the correct panel, ghosting can be a bit of a problem. However, due to the screen's 1 millisecond response time, I have not experienced this during gameplay. I played around with the response time overspeed setting, and for me, the winger almost felt a little nervous. I haven't seen any reverse ghosting, but I believe that if you watch it long enough, it will be there.

We turned to the following single-player games. To my surprise, the 27-inch panel provides a lot of immersion during the game. The AW2721D is equipped with Dell's InfinityEdge display, which has a very thin frame. It feels like the image is falling off the edge of the panel, you know, it's a good way. This is really anyone you've tried before, and it's also one of the main advantages of this screen game.

Also, games like SOTTR and Red Dead Redemption 2 look great due to the extremely wide color gamut this monitor offers. The flight simulator is interesting too, but because it places demands on your PC, it's hard to hit the upper end of the variable refresh rate range.

In the end, the overall experience of this monitor is very good, providing a great feeling of immersion and excellent response in terms of pixel conversion and refresh rate. For me, it certainly leans towards competitive gaming monitors; however, if you like the occasional story title, InfinityEdge offers plenty of additional entertainment value.

Now you have it, our complete compendium of Dell Alienware AW2721D gaming monitors. The only thing that needs to be discussed is whether we think this panel shows good value for money.

For me, I think this is easy. The Alienware AW2721D is not a cheap monitor, but if you are looking for one of the best 27-inch monitors on the market, it shows all the qualities you want. It provides all the high-end specifications you expect from a panel in this price range, including a 240Hz refresh rate, a fast 1ms response time, and nano-IPS technology that provides a 95% DCIP3 color spectrum. %. This not only makes it ideal for gaming, but also opens the door to the productivity market that requires color accuracy.

This is another excellent gaming monitor from the Alienware series. Currently, it occupies a category that currently does not have a large number of screens. Overall this is an extremely responsive gaming monitor that delivers great colors and immersion - what more could you ask for?
