The tension between Nvidia and AMD in the market makes it difficult for gamers to choose between competing units. Radeon 5700 XT and RTX 2070 perfectly illustrate this fight. So to clear up these turbulent times, we'll put these GPUs under the microscope to see which one is the best for you.

Nvidia was the first to rush the scene with their 1999 GeForce 256 GPU. They've been improving their processes ever since, but if anyone has a challenge with their product, it's AMD.

Historically, AMD has weakened Nvidia by offering GPU cards at a slightly lower price, and it looks like they will continue this frugal move, which is good for us. This means that if you are looking for a mid-market GPU option, choosing Radeon will pay off the most.

In terms of raw graphics processing power, Nvidia is still in a leading position, although AMD's latest effort, Big Navi, keeps them on their toes. Another advantage of the AMD limit is that they are more open when they roll out feature updates. They have always been designed for the best performance on AMD hardware, but are fully compatible with Nvidia technology.

In all of this, there is only one true winner ... us. Both companies must continue to reinvent themselves in order to survive, and we benefit from it. Nvidia’s

RTX 2070 GPU is built from the ground up using its proprietary Turing micro-architecture. Its TU106 silicon build has 2304 CUDA cores with a basic clock speed of 1620MHz and a frequency increase of 1815MHz. The computing power of the CUDA core in the Turing architecture is 7.5, which is really impressive, but the best thing about this Turing chip is the dedicated RT and Tensor cores.

We will discuss the RT kernel in more detail later, but the Tensor kernel can't wait! These things called DLSS 2.0 are artificial neural learning networks whose sole purpose is to provide important graphics. The

AMD, which has always been determined to make breakthroughs, used its first-generation proprietary RDNA micro-architecture to build a 5700 XT GPU, and in the true AMD spirit, it is backward compatible with its previous GCN architecture. RDNA has 2560 cores, divided into two shader engines. The key feature of RDNA is called Wave32. It is a form of data flow similar to concurrent Turing processing. It supports more complex troubleshooting and sharing, ultimately improving performance and efficiency. The

Radeon card also has an AI-like mechanism, allowing everyone to sing and dance in the Turing architecture. Although technically it is not artificial intelligence. It is called machine learning, and it runs through SIMDS ALU, thereby increasing the competition between images and videos. AMD’s

Radeon 5700 XT has excellent heat dissipation capabilities; we are talking about the melting heat of the graphics card. You can bring this GPU to a maximum temperature of 110 °C for impressive performance, plus less cooling requirements mean quieter gaming. But it is a blower card, so when you overclock it, it gets very hot. The

RTX 2070 is not as volcanic as the 5700 XT. We believe that some people will prefer it. It can only withstand operating temperatures between 70-80°C. RTX is a series of outdoor GPUs, which means they work well, but since they release excess heat into the case instead of completely dissipating it, it is best to ensure that the airflow in the case is optimized.

The decisive factor between the two GPUs can be simply boiled down to which one is smaller. Well, in the case of 4,435 inches (height) x 9 inches (length) x 2 slots (width), the size of the RTX 2070 is more moderate.

At 5.51 inches (height) x 11.69 inches (length) x 2 slots (width), the 5700 XT is not much larger than the Nvidia GPU, but depending on your current configuration, every inch may be a decisive factor.

For 1080p resolution, there is no doubt that RTX 2070 is the best GPU. It is better than the Radeon card in almost all types of games. Fortnight is not a particularly demanding game, from a visual point of view the extra fps are definitely welcome, even if Nvidia beats AMD by 1%. Overwatch and GTA5 won 4% of Nvidia's win, and PUBG increased this gap to 8%, but it was CSGO who really saw the RTX card take off with a 14% win.

When we took things to the next level and threw these two fighters onto the 1440p stage, it was the same old story. The Nvidia card claims that the average 12% W of 104.9 fps is higher than the 92.5 fps of the AMD card. RTX 2070 continued its reign of terror in 4K, lowering the average fps to 63.6 fps, but won by a difference of 13%.

has not been popularized yet. RT is such a beautiful concept in theory and practice, and more and more titles will support it in the future. All Nvidia RTX cards have ray tracing, but unfortunately Radeon 5700XT does not. If you are from the AMD team and want RT, you must jump to the Radeon GPU with RDNA 2 architecture, which is any product of 6000 XT series or higher.

We are happy to report that both GPUs have excellent 8GB GDDR6 memory configuration. We are on the edge of GDDR7, but GDDR6 is as good as it is now.

As you know, there are other things to consider before making a decision. As mentioned above, AMD has a more consumer-friendly spirit, which in turn creates a strong and loyal community.
