We first test the monitor under factory settings. In this case, the monitor is set to "off" game mode, "warm" color temperature, and "standard" ECO mode. We also recorded a brightness of 370 candela, which is much higher than the recommended brightness for daily use.

We did a quick color accuracy test to see how the presets compare to the sRGB spectrum. To my surprise, the colors are not bad. We see a low white point of 6015K and a depth of black 0.42 higher than normal. However, the average deltaE is 2.45 and the results are really very promising. The Gamma reading is 2.23 and the contrast ratio is a bit low at 874: 1, but overall, not bad.

I wasted no time loading the sRGB color preset, hoping for better results across the board. The sRGB preset demonstrated almost the same results as the out-of-the-box settings, providing a 6073K white point, 0.42 black depth, and 879: 1 contrast ratio, still below standard. In other words, the average deltaE is an impressive 1.21, which makes this preset very accurate for the sRGB spectrum.

I decided to finally run a game mode preset to see how accurate it is. I can immediately see that the FPS preset provides a bluish tint to the image, which others find a bit offensive. In other words, the result reflects this, with a white point of 7330K, a black depth of 0.53, and a contrast ratio of 760:1. However, the worst is the average deltaE, which has an average of 3.98.

I ran a more comprehensive color test on the Most Accurate Color Preset (sRGB) to better understand the accuracy it provides. As can be seen from the table above, the average deltaE has increased to 1.5 and the maximum delta is at 4.1 in the red area. In general, while the sRGB preset is accurate, a slight adjustment is needed to determine if it can accept color-accurate jobs.

We quickly calibrate the monitor (using user color temperature) to verify the accuracy of the AOC AG273QZ. For best results, we change the RGB value to 46/50/48 and run the calibration. After

calibration, AOC AG273QZ showed obvious signs of improvement when tested using the sRGB color space. The calibrated profile shows a perfect 6446K white point, a light black depth of 0.15 and an impressive 1.25 maximum deltaE. The contrast ratio is slightly reduced to 771:1, but there is nothing to worry about. With an average deltaE of 0.27, the calibration setting is much more accurate than any setting provided by the monitor. The

panel uniformity is a test we ran to check the uniformity of brightness and color on the screen. During this test, the central square was used as the reference space. Then test every two squares to see how different it is from the reference value.

In an ideal world, we want each square to be green, which means that it does not exceed the difference threshold; we can set it at the beginning of the test.

As you would expect from a TN panel, the viewing angle of the panel is not the best. The TN panel is notoriously poor in this sector, inferior to the VA and IPS variants. Although the manufacturer claims to have a 170/160 degree viewing experience, there will be some very dramatic color changes after 3040 degrees.

Fortunately, most of the people who choose to buy TN panels already know this, so they shouldn't be surprised. However, for those who are not familiar with TN technology, they just know that this panel is poor, because

Playing fast-paced shooter games like CS: GO and Call of Duty (and related racing games) feels very smooth and clear. It's easy to hit 240 frames per second in games like CS: GO, which means you don't need to run VRR for a great gaming experience. We tweaked several overload settings in the menu and saw almost no difference when switching between "off" and "weak". Typically, the medium provides the best experience, with almost no glue or halo. Unfortunately, playing more immersive games (Shadow of the Tomb, Red Dead Redemption 2) did not produce the results you expected. The lower contrast makes the extremely dark and extremely bright areas appear somewhat worn. This usually results in a lower level of detail in these areas, which can significantly reduce the overall image quality. Although the games are still enjoyable, they definitely lack the depth of detail you would expect from a monitor at this price point. In other words, the 1440p screen resolution provides the pixel density required for excellent image quality.

Speaking briefly about input lag, we were very impressed with the timing of the AG273QZ display. The AGON panel's minimum input lag is 0.8 milliseconds (5.2 milliseconds on average) and the overall response speed is extremely fast.

Overall, the AG273QZ is an excellent gaming monitor. Although it shows some flaws in image quality and color accuracy, the overall responsiveness of the panel is the most prominent.
