Amd zen 3 cpu

AMD is not satisfied with just the final touches on its top Ryzen 9 3950X, it is working hard to plan its next major performance leap. The chip giant is obviously working hard and recently completed its next server CPU Zen 3 Milan architecture design process.

More specifically, new rumors from the German media team hardwareLUXX indicate that the Nextgen Zen 3 architecture will include a new simultaneous multiprocessing function called SMT4.

SMT4 is obviously set to double the number of execution threads per core, from two to four. The Zen 2 Rome architecture has made progress in improving the SMT capabilities of early Zen designs, but Zen 3 clearly goes a step further.

raised the issue of the impact on single-threaded functions, AMD will have to weigh the pros and cons to make the enhanced SMT worth upgrading.

SMT performance improvement is not completely unheard of; in some cases, IBM has increased the execution threads per core to 8. However, AMD is in a leadership position in improving the SMT capabilities of x86 chips with more than two threads.

As always, this is still a rumor, so much help is recommended, but if it turns out to be money, AMD will take server and data center CPU technology to new heights through its Zen 3 architecture.
