The first thing to mention is that 5900X and 5950X are designed for different users. AMD refers to the 5950X as its "best of both worlds" CPU. These areas are "workstations" and "games." This is a very personalized product, and there is no direct competitor in the Intel product line. In contrast, 5900X faces the high-end gaming market and is a competitor to Intel's i910900K. The Geekbench 5 results show that the CPU may be overclocked to 6.0Ghz in the Hackintosh version, which means that compared to the previous Ryzen 9 3900X heavy-duty gaming product (clocked at 5.89), the performance of single core has increased by 19.2%, and multicore performance by 12.9% Hz increase. We have not found any such tests on the 5900X, so direct comparisons are not possible. All things considered, Ryzen 9 5950X is an unusual beast. AMD has created a CPU that is truly dual-threatening, although the high price reflects this capability. For those who are only interested in games, the price difference of $250 compared to the 5900X does not seem to make sense. However, if your needs extend to gaming and workstation use, 5950X is unparalleled. The game anchor or YouTuber may use two separate PCs, one for games and the other for editing. They may consider saving space and combining these two functions on one machine. Current data shows that the more expensive CPU is at least as good as the 3950X for workstation usage, and is even better for gaming, although we recommend that potential buyers of the new processor wait for a more definite test to see if the 3950X will drop.
