Amd nvidia tsmc excess

Although the production of many companies has slowed during the current COVID19 crisis, AMD and Nvidia seem ready to use this time to their advantage. A report issued by Digitimes mentioned that TSMC expects a strong performance in the first half of 2020, partly due to the surge in orders from AMD and Nvidia.

Digitimes said: "According to industry sources, AMD and Nvidia have increased orders and shorter delivery times, which will enable TSMC to release relatively strong performance relative to other foundries in the first half of 2020." Does

TSMC have The ability to meet demand has always attracted attention. We know that Apple currently uses TSMC to produce its Aseries processor output, but because of its obvious plan to switch to the 5nm process in the second half of 2020, this makes room for other companies to intervene. It is expected that

AMD and Nvidia will use this to help develop their next-generation CPUs and GPUs. Although Qualcomm and HiSilicon are currently larger customers than AMD, it looks like AMD will surpass them by the end of this year.

AMD's 30,000 wafer orders represented 21% of TSMC's total production capacity at the time, which certainly helped. AMD will be happy to have more capacity, especially since TSMC has been fully booked since the beginning of this year.

Nvidia also occupies a considerable chunk of TSMC's production capacity, and it appears that they are preparing for their Ampere series of GPUs. Whether they will appear before or after AMD's "Big Navi" remains to be seen.

We don't have any official news yet, when will we see these next-gen GPUs, especially when many events are canceled. There is some hope that we can hear an announcement during Computex in September 2020, if it happens.

It seems that AMD and Nvidia may just ensure that they have enough backlog supply to meet the demand when the graphics card really fails. This is good news for those who are worried about shortages in the current situation.
