Amd gpu driver boost warcraft performance
AMD promises to provide better performance for Warcraft and Radeon fans. AMD’s Radeon Software Adrenalin 2020 version 20.1.4 GPU driver update is accompanied by a new wave of optimizations for Warcraft 3: Remake.
This coincides with Blizzard's decision to release Warcraft 3: Remake, an updated version of the RTS category.
If you are currently running a PC with a Radeon RX 5700 XT graphics card, after installing the latest driver, you should see a performance increase of up to 11%. Another game with optimized drivers is Journey to the Savage Planet, which should also see performance improvements. The
driver update 20.1.4 comes with many bug fixes, which fixes some bugs related to the Vulkan API.
The following is a list of some bugs and crash fixes solved by this driver:
This is quite a lot of bug fixes, indicating that AMD is committed to improving the user experience through driver releases. Hope we will see similar things on other graphics cards in AMD's lineup. However, this does not cover all the problems of Radeon cards. The release notes highlight eight known issues that may affect 5700 series graphics cards.
These unsolved issues include:
Unfortunately, we don't know what other Navi, Vega, or Polaris card owners can expect in terms of performance improvements when running Warcraft exclusively. So far, AMD has only mentioned the Radeon RX 5700 XT.
If we hear from AMD about other game optimizations or more new driver updates for different GPU series, we will keep you posted.
