Alienware AW2721D is packaged in a fairly sturdy box, with enough protective foam around the panel and bracket components. The monitor is not assembled and is included separately in the box. Fortunately, the assembly is very intuitive and requires no tools to complete.

In addition to the panel and bracket, users can also find the following items:

Leaving the specs aside, let's have a more complete understanding of the build quality, design, and mechanical features of the AW2721D.

As I said before in many Alienware reviews, the new "Legend" design language implemented with the new panel line is definitely Bravo too. Beauty is dominated by the light gray appearance, which feels like a layer of dust and soft to the touch. The color contrasts strongly with the RGB (which we will talk about later) and the black frame of the panel itself. The

bracket adopts a "V" shaped design, which adds a ton of stability to the AW2721D. Since this monitor is 27 inches tall, the stand doesn't have to be too wide to feel solid - this is the case here. The stand-up screen itself barely oscillates. Once again, we will discuss this topic in more detail soon.

In general, the design of the AW2721D is quite simple; I think this is the goal of the new design language. Go for a simple gaming aesthetic over vulgar, this is what I personally appreciate.

As we said before, the build quality of Alienware displays is one of the many selling points they should offer - they feel absolutely solid in all areas. The

starts with the panel itself, although a lot of plastic is used in its design, it is not as sticky as you might expect. Obviously they have trouble using high quality materials, which are very strong, with little flex or flex. The same goes for stents. The housing of the stand is made primarily of plastic, while the interior is reinforced with a metal frame, which can stand the test of time.

Speaking of brackets, it's absolutely top-notch. With a lot of versatility, there is usually a little shake or slack. However, this is not the case here, all the mechanical properties feel very strong and require a bit of force to manipulate, always a good sign in my opinion.

Dell once again insisted on using a matte anti-glare coating (3H) for this monitor. Although this special coating does an excellent job of brightening most light sources, it is known to be smeared with oil and fingerprints.

moved to the frame, I think Dell has done a very good job in this regard. The AW2721D uses a new InfinityEdge display, which means that all the side bezels are very thin, including the bottom bezel. Personally, I have to say that this is probably the closest frameless design I've ever seen.

If you're looking for adjustability and functionality, look no further: AW2721D can provide both functions at the same time. Look at the function first, this monitor checks all the correct boxes. It provides pivot, tilt, height and rotation adjustments, which means that whatever position is comfortable for you, you can position the monitor according to your exact needs. Another advantage of the

is the solidity of the support. To reiterate what we said before, the support needs a bit of force to move, this is

In the Alienware series, Dell has adopted the joystick method for this particular monitor located on the right back of the panel. The

OSD is very intuitive and easy to use, allowing users to change most of the settings for color, brightness, and contrast. Users can also set their own unique preset colors using the available "custom" mode. In addition to colors, OSD also provides many different settings tailored to the game; including increased response time, improved gameplay (crosshairs, timers, etc.) and dark stability. You can also use the available variable backlight options to set the backlight settings, providing you with 3 different modes to choose from. Users of the

can also access RGB settings for various areas around the panel. With lots of RGB customization, you'll be able to configure the lighting to your exact requirements, blending it nicely with your other settings. Finally, you can find all the audio options and many different custom presets.

Color accuracy and image quality are two important factors on any screen. With that said, Dell said that the AW2721D can provide 95% of the DCIP3 color spectrum, making it one of the most color-accurate panels in the gaming arena.

For this reason, we will run many different color tests to see how it compares with the claims of Dell and some market leaders.

We first test the out-of-the-box configuration. AW2721D comes with a "standard" preset, which feels closest to sRGB. The brightness out of the box is very high (212 candela), so we reduced it to 120 for standardized testing. The standard preset works well, highlighting black depth, contrast, and average increment (2.37). The white level is warmer than our ideal scene, but nothing to worry about - very good color out of the box.

We're still testing 4 other presets, including game presets, sports presets, custom presets, and warm colors (presets that are easy to see). All of these provide very good out-of-the-box performance. As you can see from the results above, all of these provide a healthy contrast ratio of roughly 1000: 1 and an incredible average boost of up to 2.89.

We decided to immediately test the two most accurate presets, Game 1 and Custom, in more depth. Finally, we calibrated the display and conducted an in-depth test to understand the accuracy of the panel. The

Game 1 depth preset provides slightly worse data, but this is to be expected. The average delta has risen to 3.04, which is not bad, and the maximum delta is 5.33. The contrast and depth of the black are consistent with the original test, while the white balance is a bit warmer.

Before calibrating the monitor, we reduced the brightness to 120 candela (19% brightness) and customized the RGB profile. For this monitor, we set red to 100%, green to 95%, and blue to 91%. This gives us a good base color to calibrate. After the

calibration we ran another in-depth test and the numbers were vastly improved. White level is near perfect at 6493K and contrast is still good at 994: 1. Black depth decreases slightly, but nothing can be seen with the naked eye. Even more impressive is that the average calibration mode increment drops to 0.23. The largest deltoid muscle is 1.26 and the gamma reading is 2.24, a bit high.

Panel Uniformity is a test we run to verify the brightness and color uniformity of the entire screen. During this test, the central square was used as the reference space. Then test every two squares to see how different it is from the reference.

In an ideal world, we want each square to be green, which means that it does not exceed the difference threshold; we can set it at the beginning of the test.

Note: Results will vary from panel to panel.

From a panel uniformity standpoint, this is one of the most accurate monitors I have ever tested. As you can see from the results above, almost all of the squares in the chart are green or very uniform compared to the reference square.

On most modern panels, you will find that the corners are often quite different. However, this is not the case with AW2721D. This is a very uniform panel. The core of the

AW2721D is an IPS panel, which provides a very good viewing angle. Colors begin to depreciate by around 60 degrees, making it an excellent display for multiple people. In other words, at 27 inches, it is not the ideal size for sharing.

as part of the calibration process, DisplayCal will provide Measure the range of colors that the monitor can provide. The following are the color gamut test results:

Color accuracy is a considerable factor to be considered for this monitor, mainly because Dell is waving the old 95 IP3 logo-an important statement for screen monitors .Background games. In other words, we are very impressed with the color gamut coverage and volume provided by this monitor. AW2721D has more than 140% sRGB volume, 100% ARGB volume and 104% IP3 volume, which truly provides the best One of the wide color gamuts. The

color accuracy is a considerable factor to consider for this monitor, mainly because Dell is waving the old 95 IP3 logo-this is an important statement to the background of the gaming monitor. That being said, we are very impressed with the coverage and the quantity.

Make AW3821DW a great choice for anyone who wants to work to precise standards in the sRGB, aRGB, and DCIP3 color spectrum.

We finished the image quality and color accuracy test by checking the maximum brightness, minimum brightness, and 120 candela levels on this panel. The results are as follows:

So, considering the color accuracy and clarity of the image, it's time for this beast to experience some gameplay scenes and see how it handles single-player games and competitive rhythm games. Quick.

I started playing a fast paced shooter game: CS: GO. A big selling point of this monitor is its 240Hz refresh rate. And CS: GO is a great game because it really benefits from this specific spec.

As we expected, the game in general feels very fluid. I have not experienced screen tearing, mainly due to Gsync enabled, and zero ghosting. Since CS: GO is such a fast game, if you don't use the correct panel, ghosting can be a bit of a problem. However, due to the 1 millisecond response time of this screen, I have not experienced it during gameplay. I played around with the response time overspeed setting, and for me, the winger almost felt a little nervous. I haven't seen any reverse ghosting, but I believe that if you watch it long enough, it will be there.

We turned to the following single-player games. To my surprise, the 27-inch panel provides a lot of immersion during the game. The AW2721D is equipped with Dell's InfinityEdge display, which has a very thin frame. It feels like the image is falling off the edge of the panel, you know, it's a good way. This is really something I have never tried before, and it is also one of the main advantages of this screen's playability.

Plus, due to the extremely wide color gamut provided by this monitor, games like SOTTR and Red Dead Redemption 2 look great. The flight simulator is also very interesting, but due to its demand for your PC, it is difficult to reach the upper limit of the variable refresh rate range.

In the end, the overall experience of this monitor is very good, providing a huge sense of immersion and excellent response in terms of pixel conversion and refresh rate. For me, it certainly tends to be a competitive gaming monitor; however, if you like the occasional story title, InfinityEdge will provide a lot of additional entertainment value.

Now you have it, our complete compendium of Dell Alienware AW2721D gaming monitors. The only thing that needs to be discussed is whether we think this panel shows good value for money.

For me, I think this is easy. The Alienware AW2721D is not a cheap monitor, but if you are looking for one of the best 27-inch monitors on the market, it shows all the qualities you want. It provides all the high-end specifications you expect from a panel in this price range, including a 240Hz refresh rate, a fast 1ms response time, and nano-IPS technology that provides a 95% DCIP3 color spectrum. %. Not only does this make it an ideal choice for games, but it also opens the door to the productivity market that requires color accuracy.

This is another excellent gaming monitor in the Alienware series. Currently, it occupies a category that currently does not have a large number of screens. All in all, this is a highly responsive gaming monitor with excellent colors and excellent immersion. What more can you ask for?
