Add bots to discord
Discord is one of the largest and fastest-growing online communication platforms in the world, with many features that other competitors cannot provide. One way to further improve this feature is through the Discord robot.
As you know, a robot is essentially an automated software application that you can add to the Discord server. Discord bots can help you with organizing affairs, writing diaries, playing music, creating memes, banning thugs, and many other tasks, making your server a better place. Robots usually respond to commands written in the Discord text channel. Some robots have a long list of such commands, and some have only a few. You can read more about the Discord bot and see the list of candidates that we think is the best and most useful here.
Below is our guide on how to add robots to the Discord server.
If you are currently an administrator on the server where you are trying to add a robot, you already have the necessary permissions for the following steps.
If you are not an administrator, you must assign a "management server role" to yourself or to yourself. If you're not sure how to do this or what a "role" is in Discord, read our guide on how to add a role to Discord.
When you reach step 3 of Part 1 of the guide,
make sure that the "Manage Server Permissions" slider is set to green, which is on (see picture). Click the Save Changes button in the bottom right corner and follow the rest of the guide to add this feature to your account.
As mentioned earlier, there are a large number of different Discord robots that provide different functions, some of which are dedicated to one task, and most have multiple uses. If you are not sure which robot is right for your needs, please check our Discord robot guide to learn about the largest and best robots currently available. Or, you may want to design your own Discord robot, in this case, please read our guide, it will tell you how to do it.
For the purposes of this guide, we will use Carl Bot, which has a variety of management purposes, in particular it provides powerful functions for creating and managing roles in Discord. After making your choice, find the homepage of the relevant robot (for example, https://carl.gg/), and click Add to Discord / Log in with Discord / Invite the robot to your server, or any invitation that suits your specific robot.
After starting the invitation process, you should receive a pop-up request to allow the robot to access your Discord account. Click Authorize.
Next, you will be asked to choose from the server where you want to add the robot. Select the server of your choice and press Continue.
Depending on the robot you are trying to add, you may or may not need to complete this stage.
In this case, Carlbot has many different functions, and you can decide how many of them are allowed to run on your server.
Make sure you select the permissions you want the robot to have, and then click Authorize again.
If this process is successful, you should see a message on the Discord server stating that the robot has joined.
Each Discord bot behaves differently. Most of them have different commands. You can type these commands in any text channel in Discord.
For the Carl robot (a small part):
! Dog generates random images of
dogs! Cat does the same thing, but for
cats! Music shows the music settings of the
server! Twitch Online displays all current online anchors.
Carlbot's command list can be found here, but in the case of Carlbot, you can access its settings through the website panel (see picture) and click "Manage" to get more features.
