Activision confirms new call of duty to launch later this year
After months of rumors and leaks, Activision has confirmed that the next entry in the legendary Call of Duty series will arrive at the end of this year.
During the first quarter 2020 earnings call, the publisher confirmed that internal studios Treyarch and Raven Software are leading the project.
"Going forward, Activision will continue to establish a direct digital relationship with this expanding community as it offers the next high-quality" Call of Duty "work, sourced from the wholly owned" Call of Duty "studio, Treyarch. and Raven Software. We are very pleased that it is scheduled to be released later this year. " Rob Kostich, president of
Activision Blizzard, added that the game is in a playable state and revealed that the game will include single player and online multiplayer. Components:
"As you've heard on the phone before, Treyarch and Raven come up with the next premium game. They're obviously very excited about what they're doing, and we think fans will love it. The
game looks great now. Internally, people have fun in their campaign mode and the online mode that developers are well-known for. Therefore, in terms of time, I can only say that I doubt you will hear more about it soon. "
Official Treyarch Twitter users soon supported this via tweets, expressing excitement about the prospect of showing off the new Call of Duty.:
So far, neither Activision nor related developers have officially confirmed the existence of "Call of Duty 2020", as The media and fans mentioned it, but a series of clues allowed the game to obtain the worst secret state
last month. A list of mysterious games named The Red Door appeared in the Microsoft Store and a mysterious description. Wrote:
"There is more than one truth. If you are looking for answers, be prepared to question everything and accept that nothing will always be the same. The red door is waiting for you, do you dare to break through? The consensus is that Red Gate is the internal codename of this Call of Duty, referring to the Rolling Stone song Paint It Black, which appeared in the 2015 Call of Duty: Black Ops III trailer. It is expected that "Call of Duty 2020" will return to the Black Ops series as a soft restart.
Less than two weeks ago, Doritos’ promotional activities apparently revealed the name of the game as "Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War" and the logo. The promotion allows players to unlock the double XP discount by purchasing each bag of chips (starting date is October 5, 2020), which means that the game will be launched in its traditional early autumn period.
With the official delisting of cats, we can expect the marketing drive to really begin soon. In fact, Activision never stopped to promote it later this year, much less to announce the Call of Duty title. Tomorrow's PlayStation State of Play broadcast, which focuses on third-party games, may be the perfect setting to present "Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War."
